Asset Integrity Engineer
Vysus Group is a leading engineering and technical consultancy offering specialist asset performance services, risk management and project management expertise across complex industrial assets, energy assets (oil and gas, nuclear, renewables) and the energy transition.
We are looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer to support the team with a range of different projects related to the oil and gas, petrochemical and food industries. The position will support the mechanical integrity, corrosion and maintenance and reliability teams on active projects. The position will be at our Houston office (primarily office based with some flexibility for home-based work) and will be ideally suited to an individual with 3-5 years of experience.
The role is within our Asset Management Consulting Group - a close team in a technology-enabled organization that creates value through integrity assessments, risk management, efficiency, and productivity to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Work closely with other engineers to support complex engineering projects.
- Work with the Senior Engineer for guidance and to get work reviewed.
- Produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in a defined format including contract terms and conditions.
- Gather engineering data from multiple sources and populate relevant spreadsheets and databases.
- Mark up P&ID’s under guidance from the team following established work procedures.
- Pursue continuing professional development.
- Undertake administration as required in line with the current processes and procedures.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Compile, manipulate and analyze large amounts of data in MS Excel.
- Plan work schedule and coordinate with team members as needed.
- Act as a scribe during client meetings and workshops.
- Support Business Development activities as and when required.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering or other suitable discipline.
- Proven experience in an asset integrity or corrosion-focused role
- Must have a good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Have a versatile and flexible work approach.
- An understanding of engineering drawings such as P&ID’s
- Knowledge of or certifications in API 510, 580, 581, 653 strongly recommended
- Past experience with corrosion assessments or API 571 certification would be plus
- High proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willing and able to travel to client sites to support the senior engineers as needed (typically 25-50%).
